Made a neat find at the bins today. Looks complete, but the power cord is clipped off and the screen has some gnarly burn in. Cost me $35 because they ‘had to charge by weight’ (it’s ~40 pounds).
I’ll document it properly once I get a chance to clean it up.
Any idea what it is? Looks a lot like the NCR CRT I operated at a bank back in the early ’80’s.
It’s a serial terminal, can be used as an interface to a computer or sometimes other pieces of other equipment (like an EPROM burner I have). They’re ‘dumb’ in that they usually have little to no storage or processing power on their own, and won’t really do much unless you hook them up to something else.
